Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Instant Pot Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp EVOO
- 3 Tbsp grass fed butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef or a mix of ground beef and ground pork
- 1 tp salt optional
- 1 c dry white wine
- 1.85 oz Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Bolognese seasoning blend
- 28-32 oz can whole plum tomatoes, chopped or 2 lbs fresh plum tomatoes, chopped
- 1 c milk
- 12-16 oz penne pasta optional
Instructions
- Turn the Instant Pot on to sauté, high. When it is heated, add the EVOO and butter to the pot. Once the butter is melted, add the chopped onion and sautee for 5 minutes or until translucent.
- Add the ground beef and salt (optional)nto the pot, stir breaking it up until it crumbles and is browned through.
- Deglaze the pot with the dry white wine.
- Sprinkle the contents of the Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Bolognese seasoning packet over the meat in the instant pot. Add the chopped tomatoes and milk.
- If Cooking Pasta In the Instant PotAdd the Penne to the instant pot and make sure it is fully submerged in the liquid.
- Cover the instant Pot, making sure the vent is closed and cook on high pressure for 4 minutes. Natural release 5 minutes, then quick release.
- If Cooking Pasta SeparatelyCook according to package directions, until al-dente and drain. Add the pasta to the pot after released and stir to combine.
- Serve with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Slow Cooker Bolognese
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp EVOO
- 3 Tbsp grass fed butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef or blend of ground beef and ground pork
- 1 tsp salt optional
- 1 c dry white wine
- 1.85 oz Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Bolognese Seasoning Blend
- 28-32 oz can whole plum tomatoes or 2 lb fresh plum tomatoes, chopped
- 1 c milk
- 12-16 oz penne pasta optional
- 2 c hot water optional
Instructions
- Add the EVOO and butter to a sauté pan and heat over medium heat. Add the onion and saute for 5 minutes, or until the translucent.
- Add the ground meat and salt (optional) and stir, breaking the meat up into crumbles as it browns. Pour the meat and all cooking liquid to the slow cooker.
- Deglaze the pan with the white wine, scraping up any browned bits with a wooden spoon. Pour this over the meat in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the contents of the Healthy Gourmet Kitchen Bolognese seasoning packet over the meat in the slow cooker. Add the chopped tomatoes and milk to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
- If you would like to cook the pasta in the slow cooker.During the last 30-45 minutes of the cooking time, add pasta and 2 cups of hot water to the crockpot. Make sure the pasta is fully submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook for an additional 30-45 minutes, until the pasta is al-dente.
- Serve with freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese.
